Our course provides a general grounding in design and the opportunity to produce a folio of work that you can use to apply for a variety of art and design-focused studies, or use as an entry point into the workforce. This course can add great value to your existing career or provide you with a pathway into further study at diploma, associate degree and degree level.
Over the 12 months, you will be supported by industry experienced trainers. You will be exposed to creative design thinking and work with a range of traditional and digital design processes to create design projects in a studio-based environment. You will also have opportunities to work on various production and research projects through our online classes. This course covers drawing and 3D design, pattern design, colour theory and integration. Learning in small groups, you will use up-to-date equipment and the latest design software.

Our teaching approach is practical and hands-on. You will be learning in a studio environment as well as through lectures, workshops, industry presentations and group work.
You will be connected with people from design industries and work on a range of projects. You will be studying with creative trainers who have current knowledge of the latest design trends and innovations.
To achieve this qualification, the candidate must demonstrate competency in 15 units. The duration of this course is 52 weeks. 20 contact hours per week.
Participants in CUA40715 Certificate IV in Design will be required to have:
Completion of practical creative projects, research projects and reports, role plays, presentations, portfolios, case studies, and practical simulations.
